Jakarta KI Encourages Workers to Use Public Information Disclosure Law

Jakarta Information Commission (KI) Chairman, Harry Ara Hutabarat, has urged workers and their organizations to utilize Law No. 14/2008 on Public Information Disclosure (UU KIP) as a legitimate and strategic tool to advocate their welfare.

Harry noted that throughout his time as commissioner, there haven’t been any information-related disputes involving workers or labor organizations, nor have there been formal requests for information submitted to Public Information and Documentation Officers (PPID) in public agencies.

"UU KIP should be utilized as a lawful and strategic instrument to advocate for workers' rights," he asserted.
Therefore, he encouraged the Jakarta Provincial Government to actively promote UU KIP among labor organizations and all stakeholders in the labor sector.

to achieve justice and prosperity," he expressed.
